If you have been on google today, or read a news paper you will know that it is Oskar Fischinger’s 117th birthday. Happy birthday you amazingly inventive and imaginative dude.
You may have even been distracted by googles in screen game to create visual music, as this is what Fischinger did.
Way before the time of computer created visuals, Fischinger created anaimation that that visualised music.

Take the 7 minutes to watch this link and think that this was created in the 1930s. This is effectively stop graphic animation with each movement filmed frame by frame.
Fischinger also invented the lumigraph, which created lights to accompany music. Impressing audiences.
Fischinger created more than 50 short films in his life time, but also painted bringing movement to the canvas through his brush strokes. He created over 800 works.
