What art do you like?

I’m looking to you guys again, I’m really interested to see what people on here like and if I can break down the images you love looking at.

I see this as a dual purpose exercise, one to broaden my horizons to artists I might not know and to give me a bit of creative inspiration about what to write about next, and in turn you’ll get a piece written about what you suggest.

So pop your thoughts in the comments and I will hopefully help to bring your suggestions to life.

What art do you like? This there an artist you’d love to know more about? Tell me in the comments. Like this post? Why not share it?

  1. Isn’t art where you find it?

I love meandering through museums and gazing at 200 year old scenics, or grand events, or any art where the skill of the artist and the vision of the artist are both portrayed.

Modern art? Bah! Paintings of bland colors with lines through the middle? Andy Warhol nonsense? NIX! Show me something that took true skill. 10,000 hours of labor to learn. That plus espiritos — that’s art. Show me craft. Workmanship. Anything less is just pop-culture trash.

    1. I think you should appreciate some modern art… it’s not all Pollock and Warhol. There are many “modern” artists who bring an amazing flare to otherwise dreary museum walls. All too often I find religious art dominates walls, which is fine… but see one crucifixion and the rest follow suit. People like Dali, Van Gogh, Monet and Chagall all fall under the banner of modern art and some of them painstakingly built up their work over 1000s of hours… as you want.
