Hey, WidowCranky here.  Have you ever looked at a piece of art, or watched a film or read a book and wanted some more detail on it?  Well that is what this blog is all about.

I started writing this blog after some encouragement from a friend, to try and bring appreciation of art and different genres of media down to a level which is easy to understand.

All too often I find that art galleries, books and documentaries assume a certain level of knowledge.  Also I crave detail, I want the stories behind what I am seeing, and generally that is not what is talked about.

I will admit it, art dominates this blog, but it is what I am passionate about.  I love seeing how artist express themselves and depict what they are seeing.  Their style and technique adding to the overall feel to their finished piece.

I also love how media, from the past and present dominates our culture and I try and link this in to the articles that you see.

You can also find articles from me on the Parkstone International Blog where I write about art and how it fits in with today’s society.

I am also a keen amateur photographer, so occasionally you will see some posts with photos I have taken.

Art and media is very much a subjective business, so when you are reading any of the articles, please remember that these are simply my opinions based on the research and knowledge I hold.  I am always up for a peaceful debate as I love to hear the opinion’s of others and I welcome the interaction with other like minded people.
